” I love the Geeks on Tour videos, and am learning and changing things all the time(sort of). I have a long way to go, just changed my wallpaper and am trying a few other things. If you only knew how terrified I was and so now am becoming a little less terrified….thank you sooooo much! “

“Thanks guys for all your impressive videos. I love my Picasa 3 too. You are very easy to understand and most informative. “

P & J

“Just want you to know what a help your videos have been to me over the last year. I’m so glad I became a member. “

Bill (from Australia)

” Thank you for your help. With the videos and your answers to my questions in the forum, I was able to prepare a GOOGLE map/Google Earth which maps the location of my extended family around the globe. Now I can share it with all of them thanks to Geeks on Tour!”

” Even though I am a pretty savvy web user, I learn A LOT from your videos!”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your generous help may have saved our 31 year marriage. I was making my husband miserable with my problems on the blog. I had tried an hour of on-line help, & every trick in the book I knew. You gave me the answer.”

“I have been spending most of my afternoon enjoying your tutorials — it’s the best $39 I’ve spent in a while …. Again I have learned a great deal, and even went back and did the same tutorial again to focus on additional details that I missed the first time. It is almost “like being there”, since I recognize your friendly and informative voice. “

“I joined because of computer problems my friends were unable to help me with. (Solved the problem, once I could view the needed video) THANKS! …

Thanks for all the information you share.”

  1. I had a problem with a poilrfe being set that put the phone volumes (except the ringer) to 0% and still getting notifications regardless of the 0% volume. That has resolved itself. I guess the latest up date fixed it. Now I have an opposite problem. From 10:00pm to 6:00am the phone goes into a poilrfe that sets the ringer volume to 80% and all other sounds to 0% volume. This poilrfe works and at 6:00am the poilrfe switches back to the Default, but even though the poilrfe sets back to default the volumes do not move back to normal. If I manually change the poilrfe from default to something else and back again then the volumes set themselves correctly. Any ideas? Moto Droid on Simply Stunning 2.2.Benny

  2. before, you have to choose the right teconolhgy for the task at hand. If I went around bashing certain technologies like you’re doing, then I’d look like a real hypocrite when the day came that a project called for it (I’m sure you’d just turn that project down so you don’t have to tell me that). So just to reiterate:- Take it easy, man. Relax.- I never claimed to be wiser than you (just told you how you sounded).- I wasn’t attacking you- I admitted I don’t know you (you may be a great person or you may be a horse’s a$$).- I keep my arguments mostly to myself.- Choose your teconolhgy based on the task at hand.I love you. <- is that what you need to hear?

  3. Morton 1. certainly Adobe has gnvarneoce over SWF, I’ll give you that one you can however freely use the SWF standard, extend it and create your own SWF playback mechanism, not exactly closed and proprietary.2. OSP is in part a marketing effort but has real consequences, by aligning these partners (from chip manufacturers to content providers) its a lot easier to get the Flash Player on these devices.3. you’re missing the point there, its an ECMAScript virtual machine and AFAIK still on the roadmap to be integrated for FirefoxSurely you don’t think the average end user knows about different web formats and what gets supported by what mobile browser? Can I browse on the Internet is their question and what the definition of the Internet is varies from person to person.I can’t get my head around the wild opposition of some against allowing Adobe to develop a plug-in that users could choose to install if they so wish.

  18. I’m very grateful to you both for the clips you sent me 2yrs ago and all the info given on them for me . Bur I don’t see any good reason to join your TV clips .as , as far as I can see they only apply to America and as I live on a Spanish Island called Lanzarote I don’t see what good they would be to me .
I’m sorry to say .But the other clips you send out occasionally , I’m very grateful for , as they are very informative (pretty borders round my photos) was my last one .

So I do hope I’ve explained my reluctance to join your touring club . and hope you understand .

My Grateful and Kindest Regards Mick

  19. I’d like to say how much I love your mails but as we live in Spain your travels round the states aren’t much good to us . But the complete set of your books my wife bought for me are invaluable . So thank you both , VERY VERY MUCH

    Regards Mick Hester

  20. We are trying to pay our membership dues but do not see an amount. Please let us know the amount and how to pay them.
    Thanks Joy and Rea

  21. I was able to watch the whole session. The 50 some minutes went fast. I had my Galaxy 3 and a Note 10 and an old IPad sitting in front of me while you demo. Pick up some tricks but boy there are still others that you did not get into.
Question; there are alot of programs sitting there that I do not know what they do. Is there a guide of features of applications?

  22. Hello, Whilst in Picasa go to Tools-Options-Email and move the ticker slide along until it says 640.
then click the round radio button that says Size for single pictures the same for multiple (640 pixels)
that means the photo wiill be 640 pixels along the long side and will be 480 pixels along the ends.
This is the correct size for emailing; they will load quickly into the recipients In Box and will be easy to view.
If the recipient wasnts the photo in its original size so he/she can enlarge it, then alter the settings to Original size.
Select your photo in Picasa and click “email” on task bar.

  23. I just ordered a one year member subscription and paid by paypal. I am trying to register to create an account so I can see the videos. I clicked on the register button but it does not take me to the page to register. Help.

    • I wish to become a member and also to buy your book and vidios . My wife is buying this for my 72 birthday (31.8.1940) . I’ve tried last week ,using my Spanish card , and it said this card cannot be used . So i used my U.K. card . This also was refused . Both my cards are VISA cards with several thousand €’s and pounds in them so i wondered if you can sort this out for me please .

My Best Regards Mick Hester .

  25. Well, here it is in February of 2011 and I just got a wrong level message after clicking on the expand blog link at the end of the shortened version of your latest blog on Windows 7 & Vista: Navigating with the Address Bar ‘Breadcrumbs’. What’s up??

  26. I would love to be a continuous member of GeeksonTour, I love all you have to offer and I love your expertise on the subjects…but I do not have access to good internet all the time. I have dial-up…can’t get your videos, at RV parks, only at the lodges, I even bought an iphone for the purpose of getting connected to you, but…as you know it won’t work either. I have to wait another whole year to get a droid, which I will get, and then I can get connected with you. I was so hoping to see you at the Gypsy rally in Yuma last year…any chance you will be there this next year?? We stick to the west coast because we have a 95 yrs. old mother still living in OR, so don’t venture east as long as she is living, so therefore, miss out on a lot of good RV rallys. Especially now that Escapees only have one and it is usually too far away. Anyway, I will keep reading your blogs, facebook, etc. until the time comes that I can get you in a more convenient way. Thanks for all you do.

    • Wow! We just upgraded our website software and are running into some strange stuff. That’ll teach us not to do upgrades on a holiday weekend!
I think you should be good now.
