An album has an option to order the photos from oldest to newest or newest to oldest. Very nice. When a movie is created from that album., It seems that it has a mind of its own, the order of the movie pictures photos in the album has no bearing on the order of the  photos in the movie. I understand how to order the photos in the movie, but I would like for the movie to start with the order that is in the album.

For example, I have a series of photos taken of someone on a zip-line. No matter the order of the photos in the album, the created movie always shows the newest first. So when the movie plays it shows the person going backwards on the zip line. Kind of funny but it’s not what I want. Anyway to help me out with this? Other than changing the sequence within the movie editing. Very tedious. TYIA

hmmm, I just tried selecting photos to make a movie and, whether I selected them from an album (oldest first) or from the library (newest first) the movie came out oldest first. So your zipline ride should be going forward. I can’t explain why yours is going backward.

Just to investigate – find the zipline photos in your library (outside of any album) and select a few. Make a movie and see which way they’re sorted.

I don’t know of any setting that can change this. The only way to affect order in a movie, as you said, is to manually drag the items.

Maybe force quit Google Photos, restart phone, and try again. Can’t hurt.
