End result: we want to be able to show our selected photos on our tv screen during a party. Google Movie is TOO FAST for people to see the photos.
I am beginning (first time) to use photo google {I do have a Photos Google acct and all my photos are on the cloud.}
(I want the ability to show Google Photos in a Movie with longer time on each photo—like a SlideShow).
I see references to Picasa and also to Snapseed and also Google plus.

What do I use to show my Google photos as a Slide show?? The Google photos ‘Movie’ is too fast to show our photos to others thru our tv screen. -Tim

Good to hear from you.

The best place for you to ask questions is in the Member Q&A at GeeksOnTour.com. We promise to respond there. Emails often get buried.

There are threads in the Q&A about slideshows on a TV.

We use a Chromecast device ($35) connected to HDMI on the TV to display a running slide show of any album in our Google Photos. You set it up in the Google Home app on your phone and it is easy to use and change once connected.

You want to go to the backdrop settings by tapping the 3-dot menu for the Chromecast.
Tap on Google Photos and choose the albums you want to display. Turn off the other options so there are no distractions. You can choose a custom speed. I have ours set to 2x.

Have fun with it.

Check out episode 108 of our weekly class, it was all about using Chromecast to display computer/phone stuff to your TV.

We love the permanent slideshow, screensaver style, that is always running on our TV, but you can have more control over a real slideshow if you cast your computer (or phone) and actually play a slideshow from Google Photos. That way you can manually control the photos and go back and forth.
