I’m trying not to panic, but I just found out that Google Photo has a bug.
It has erased the dates of photos taken after 1979 and defaulted them to when they were scanned or first placed in Google Photos.
Google is saying to NOT change the dates until they can fix the bug.

Just another reason to keep your “valuable photo’s” on an external hard drive.
That is absolutely true. Dates are a mess right now for some people who have a lot of scanned photos with modified dates.
Do not change the dates until Google says ok.
Keep your backups safe on external hard drives and elsewhere in the cloud.
Chris expects them to get it resolved. No ETA.
