When you connect the phone to your computer, it should show up as a drive in Windows explorer. Double click that drive and you can use it just like any drive. Copy files to and from whatever folders you like.
I think you’re referring to this video: https://geeksontour.com/2011/10…..martphone/ and, yes, it demonstrates selecting the choice of “Copy pictures to computer using Picasa” If, instead, you choose “Open folder and view files” then you can see the individual photo files and copy/paste them wherever you want.
Try watching this video https://geeksontour.com/2014/12…..opy-files/ If you think of your phone just like a USB drive, the copying file part should be the same.

Chris….I have the phone and computer together with the cable. There is nothing different in Computer to indicate that it sees the phone. What words should I look for? I see local, recovery, dvd drive, carbonite and Dell Tech Concierge Backup. Hopefully I can get back to this Q &A. In your video of 2011 you say that are changes to make in the phone and I do not understand or see where. For now (Indy)…I am going to have to be content with my slow dropbox and carrying my larger camera around. Not going to be convenient. Leave for Indy July 6…go in July 9 for PreRally rehearsals. Thanks…Roxie

Chris…followed your instructions…unplugged phone from the computer and did hear the sound decend…replugged and hear the sound indicating that the computer had seen the usb from the phone. Nothing appears on my phone. So…I cannot follow the instructions. Checked in Windows Explorer and nothing new is there…which I did not expect as I have had no instructions on the phone to follow.
There will be zero time in Indy for me to work on this. I am rally captain for Maestros with the continuous job to be sure the next venue is in place..etc. We have a pretty propelling schedule for the week.
We are staying at Heartland RV Resort, Greenfield, IN July 7 and 8. On July 8, Sat….we are driving to the fairgrounds (20 miles) to scout out rehearsal space, parking, coffee and volunteer dinner and pick up the volunteer tickets and pins to issue at Music Check out. We go into the fairground July 9 and then it is nonstop. Issue music in the AM and first rehearsal July 9.
I will get this figured out one of these days. Hope to at least say hi. Thanks…Roxie

I found this on the Moto Z
Let me know if it helps. Do you have the data cable that connects the phone to the computer? This article says it is not included with the phone. Usually the charging cable serves this purpose. Maybe that’s the issue, you need another cable. ??

July 6…riding to Indy.
Yes…I have a data cable bought from Verizon. web says to connect cable. Then pull down from the top and find Connect to a media Device. No such words when I pull down.
Looks like drop box gets my business and it is slow but it does come through.
Hope there is time to speak in Indy. We will be in Greenfield, IN at Heartland RV Juy 7 and 8 But spending a lot of the day on Sat July 8 at the fairgrounds scouting and getting the lay of the land…and picking up volunteer pins and dinner tickets. Have a very packed Maestro schedule all week until Sat morning…after music is checked in after coffee. Leaving on Sun.
Actually, when you first pull down from the top, the words you’ll see are more like “USB options” or something like that. After choosing that you would see the “Connect to media device” as one of the possibilities. Probably not the issue, but thought I’d mention it.
Hope to see you in Indy. When not in seminars, we should be at our table in the Info center. If you think of it and get a minute, bring phone and laptop there. We will be there Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday just hanging out and getting ready.
Here’s our seminar schedule:
Wed 1:30 – 2:45 What Does This Button Do? A smartphone primer Seminar 1
Thu 1:15-2:30 Memories with Google Photos, Seminar 1
Thu 3-5:30 iPhone Photography Seminar 4 (pre-registration required)
Fri 8-9:15 What Does This Button Do? Seminar 1
Fri 9:45 – 11 Honey Tell me where to go Seminar 1
Fri 3:45 – 6:15 Android Photography Seminar 3 (pre-registration required)

Good grief…you last wrote July 9! It is now July 20! Thanks for your help offers at Indy….we are on an unreal busy schedule for the entire time we are at an international rally. I was Rally Captain for Maestros..working many months ahead with Doug and during the rally.
Yes…I did know the Indio photos disappeared. However…today I posted the Indy blog and photos are fine. I still need them on my computer to be able to see them and decide which ones will go into a collage. But…they are there now. I did take all pics to Google Plus…use Picasa to work with them. I take many more pics than I use in a blog. http://www.frustratedmaestros……ogspot.com
I am no further along with data cable from Android to computer!! Used my camera in Indy and a few times my phone…using drop box to get them to my computer. Very slow, Ogibe tajes vert buce oucsm aksi,
We are treating two more weeks and waiting for Midwest at Amana, IA. Two COE parks: Dam West COE IL this week and next week COE Sugar Bottom at North Liberty, IA. Maybe I can find time to work on the data issue. I do not have as many major responsibilities at Amana…Chas is directing…small group…not like Indy.
OK…nice to know you are still out there! Thanks…Roxie
Nice pictures Roxie!
If you have the opportunity – try going to a Verizon store to see if they can get the cable transfer to work. they should be able to.
And, check out this new video of mine on adding photos to Blogger. I’m a big fan of “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” so I’m not saying you have to change, but just take a look so you know what I’m talking about.
We decided to take the Canadian route between Indy and Syracuse. Fun.

Have watched your video on using the cloud pics to blogger. Hmmm! I still need to see many pics to decide what to use and then put them into a collage. Gets many people in pictures.
Next issue….I am unable to upload to You Tube…music from Indy. The server rejected the file at the end. One of the suggestions was to change the format and I did to MPEG. Not sure what the former format was. This really messed up my pics in My Docs. I can finally see them by looking at Folder but cannot get them back to a list view in Docs>pics>and find the list view of the event I videoed. Pulling hair. So…no music from Indy can go online.
Have done a little reading and I see that You Tube is being phased out…..for Google Play…leaving me in the lurch. Have any info about this? It is all about those who are making money through You Tube,
I just get in deeper and deeper!! Enjoy going across Canada. Did not know you are going to Syracuse. Long story as to why we are not there but going to Midwest…agreed to a year ago.
Youtube is definitely not being phased out. Maybe you were reading something about where to get commercial movies or music – I don’t know.
I doubt seriously that the problem was the video format – did you use a different camera? Maybe it was just bandwidth issues – that can cause an upload to fail at the end. Or perhaps Youtube recognized the music and objected on copyright? Usually you’ll get a specific message it that is the case. My bet is on bandwidth – have you tried it again? In a better verizon area? or at home with good wifi?

Goodness it takes me forever to get back to you. OK..You Tube will live…and who knows what I was reading. I do know that folks are wanting to publish in order to make money. I was uploading with my jetpac. Verizon strength was good. I have had no time to get back to this……or even a desire..and I will need these videos for Amana-Midwest.
I thought my problem was the format and did change them to MPEG….and that made the format in my pics very different. Bad choice. Do you know what format I should return to? It has arranged all of my videos numerically. So all the #1s are together for many videos. The only way I can see a video to play is through folders. But a number in a folder will not upload, either. After the upload to You Tube failed it sugggested the format was wrong and had a list. Bad choice on my part.
To recap: so far can’t upload to You Tube; in My Pics the only way I can see a video is through Folders. Folders wil not upload a single selection.
Wish I was on the way to Syracuse.
