My bet is that you’re storing your pictures on an SD card? And that the message is coming from Google Photos.
Normally, Google PHotos has a one-click easy button to “Free Up Device Storage” – this will delete all photos from your phone that have already been uploaded (backed up) to you Google account.
However … the Google Photos app does not have permission to make changes to your SD card, only to internal storage. So you get an error message.
If this is, indeed, your issue – then you need to use the Gallery app to delete the pictures from your device’s SD card, and it’s up to you to be sure they successfully backed up to your Google account. You can check by going to a computer and go to photos.google.com.
If this is not your issue, then I need to know the exact error message.

So far I like it alot. I thought at first it might be too big for my pocket but it’s not. Other than that I don’t see much difference from what I had. It does have a slot for a SD card which will be good. No more memory problems…with the phone anyway. It’s always a struggle to get all the settings the way you want and passwords, etc. etc. I enjoy your show and newsletters. I don’t know what all us non-geeks would do without you guys. Seriously!
Thanks for your help.
