Apologies if this is the incorrect place for this inquiry.
My Mother and I share a phone plan through AT&T. We both have different phone numbers of course. Is there a way to separate her calls from mine? Her text messages from mine? And vice versa?
What is really disturbing to me is the “Medical ID”. I have mine on my phone(medications, etc). I have entered all of her information under “Medical ID” on her phone, but my info comes up on her phone. That’s not a good thing! Emergency responders would be treating her with my profile! I have updated her phone several times with her profile, but then it switches back to me.
Is there a fix for this? I hope so…please help. Thanks in advance.
Yikes! I’m not sure what’s going on, but I will tell you that it probably has nothing to do with your sharing a plan thru AT&T. iPhones are identified by the AppleID that is associated with the phone. You need to check to see if your AppleID has been entered into her phone settings.
- Open the phone’s settings
- At the top, you should see a name and, if you tap there, under the name you will see an email address – that is the AppleID associated with the phone.
- On your phone, you should see your appleID and on your mother’s it should be hers.
