After watching your video on using Photo Assistant to clear the Gallery on my Samsung S5, I felt comfortable in using it. However afterward, when I opened my Gallery there is one “Album” with a Picasa icon on it. It has over 25,000 photo’s in it.
I have checked the Photo’s cloud and all of them are on the cloud.
My question is can I manually delete this album from my Samsung S5 Gallery without them being deleted from the cloud?
In fairness, I have been working with my photo’s on the computer using Picasa the last few days. I have the computer photo’s synced with the cloud also.
Is it possible making photo changes on the computer have some affect on leaving this album on my phone’s Gallery?
As you probably can tell I’m a little “gun shy” on deleting anything now that all my devices are synced to Google Photo’s cloud.
Thank You for all your help and guidance.
I understand being gunshy … there’s good reason for that! I always recommend testing on a selected photos until you’re confident you understand how it is working.
I believe what you’re seeing in your gallery is just a view of your online albums. Even though we’re uploading to Google Photos – the Picasa wording is still around. You should be able to find a 3-dot menu at the top of your gallery. Choose “Content to Display” and UNcheck Picasa.
