For the last few days my android has been doing weird things. I have no Playstore, I can’t open my settings, Keep doesn’t work, Google search doesn’t work, etc. I read that Google had an outage….can you tell me more about the outage? Thanks, just wondering if need new phone or if it is just Google. Carolyn Bevans
Personally, I did not experience any issues due to the outage, but I did hear that Play Store was one that had problems. I would hope that the problems would be temporary and you’ll see them fix themselves in time and maybe after re-starting the phone. (hold down the power button and choose Restart)
If you still can’t open your settings, you may want to try safe mode to troubleshoot – I don’t know what model of phone you have. Google for How to use safe mode in a ________ (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S7)
If you’re still missing the Play Store, (and you can open your settings) check your settings to see if it got disabled. Settings, Application Manager, All apps and scroll thru to find Google Play Store. Click it and, if it is disabled, you can re-enable it here.
Let me know what you find.

Thanks for the reply. I never could get into my settings nor get playstore to work. I had had that phone three years so decided an update would be ok. I purchased a Moto G7. I have had it two weeks and am very happy with it. I like the Moto actions! The only thing I don’t like is that I cannot find a way to make it read who is calling out loud even with an app. I down loaded three different apps but none work. I called Motorola several times and no one could find a solution. Any ideas about that?
Good question about getting your phone to announce calls. My first Android phone just did that by default as I recall, but I haven’t had the feature for years. Android has an Accessibility setting for Announcing caller id – however, it appears that it only works if the Voice Assistant feature is on. Voice assistant completely changes your phone to be usable by blind and vision impaired people. It makes it pretty unusable for the rest of us.
Samsung has a “Car” mode that is supposed to announce calls. I don’t see anything for Motorola.
Sorry I can’t help.
