Yes, you can share calendars pretty easily. You need to use a computer to go into your settings for the calendar and give permission to someone else to see your calendar. Then, someone else can add your account to their calendar. Here’s the official Google instructions: https://support.google.com/cal…..7082?hl=en
Contacts don’t work this way. You can send copies of contacts to someone else, but you can’t “Share” If you’re using all Apple devices, you may want to use iCloud instead. With iOS 8, there is a “Family Sharing” option. It still doesn’t fully share contacts though. (see this discussion on Apple forums)
