The answer is yes, BUT, I want to caution you against using the same email. More and more, our emails are becoming our identities for purposes of the online world. I know that many couples originally used a single email … they may have only had a single computer at the time But, as we use online resources more and more, we really need our own email – and the more things you sign up for with the joint email, the bigger will be your task to disentangle accounts when you do start using your own email.
The way Jim and I use Dropbox now is that I have one account, he has another. Within my account I have one (very large) folder that I share with him – so anything that goes in that folder ends up on both his AND my computer in the Dropbox folder. He uses the Camera Uploads feature and then shares the resulting Camera Uploads folder with me … so on my computer, in my Dropbox folder I have a Camera UPloads folder which is all the pictures taken with my devices, and I have a “Jim’s Camera Uploads” folder where his pictures are shared with me.
I believe that is the right way to do it … but it can be done where you both share the one account. All he would have to do is to download the Dropbox app on his phone, and turn on the camera uploads option. As far as Dropbox is concerned, this would be your second phone. So, no, he won’t need a different password – he will BE you.
