Chris,
I really love my DROID. However, recently it has really slowed down. My wife’s iPhone opens aps faster the my DROID. We have unscientifically tested speed by starting the same ap and the same time. I’ve thought about updating to new version of operating system DROID has available but do not like the idea of having to find and down load all my special aps. I am considering switching to iPhone because it seems to run faster and aps are synced thru iTunes. Any thoughts that could convince me to stay with DROID?
Thanks Jerry

How old is your Droid?  Both Jim's and mine slowed down after 2 years of use.  Jim got a new one (Droid Razr) I'm still limping along.  His is blazing fast especially with 4G … no 4G available for iPhone.  I'm continually cleaning mine out – removing unused apps etc.  I'm thinking about waiting for a Windows 8 phone.

Thanks for posting my comment here Chris. My DROID is just under 2 years old. I have upgraded operating system once. When I first got it, I really liked the way it worked.  My wife and daughter have iPhones. We recently purchased an iPad for our traveling computer.  The larger display screen provides better visibility especially when on the road.

Back to the speed issue. When I noticed the slow down, I dumped unused aps. Speed did not increase. In the unscientific test, I had my wife start up aps in her iPhone at the same time I start them on my DROID. (i.e Face Book).

Her iPhone had the ap running much faster than my DROID.

Any suggestions that will help increase the speed of my DROID would be appreciated.

My DROID is a SAMSUNG GALAXY running on ATT.

I expect some of the slowness has to do with syncing information.  There is a lot more of that going on than when we started.
