Now that my tether works without blue-screening, I discovered that it drops the Internet whenever I use the telephone. I was hoping that the multi-tasking that I read it was capable of doing included phone use while tethered and using the Internet. I guess not.

I saw something on another Droid forum that indicated it would be included in the next software upgrade.  Hope so.  I also had the BSOD problem and it has been solved.  I don't think I did anything different, but it is working.  I can even log off the computer and get back on with PDAnet.

Last evening,  I was trying to upload 127 pictures to Walmart using Picasa and using my Droid tethered to the computer. I had several failures after anywhere from 3 to 9 photos before I figured out that the Droid was hick-uping everytime it tried to tell me I had another email in Gmail. I am a slow learner, but this is a pain. I went to my Verizon aircard to do the upload and no more problems. I sure hope the next software upgrade fixes this and it comes soon.

There are so many settings.

Have you tried turning off notifications for your Gmail?  Not sure if that is the culprit.  Open Gmail and press the menu button. More. Settings. Email notifications.

I knew about the phone vs. Internet.  One or the other.  I expect that will change with more powerful phones and VOIP.

Is there a way to tell Droid that I want priority to go to data instead of voice?

I just turned off notifications. Thanks for that info. I'll see how it behaves.
