hmmm … first a couple of questions:
- What phone do you have?
- What version of Android? (Menu, Settings, About Phone, Android version)
Look in your phone's settings to see if Market exists: Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications – touch ALL at the top – scroll to the m's and see if Market is there. If so, touch it and see if there are any messages. If all looks well, you could touch Clear Cache. Then reboot your phone: hold down the on/off button until you see the message, “Silent mode, Airplane mode, Power Off” choose Power Off. Wait a few seconds then hold down the button till it powers back on.
Let us know how it goes.
I have found a few references to other folks who are missing their Market app.
The only possible answer I've found is to reset your phone to factory defaults. If you do that, your phone will be in the same state as when you first bought it – no email set up, no other apps installed. So, if you choose to reset you'll want a backup, or at least a written list of all the apps and other settings you've changed … scary stuff.
I just googled for “android market missing” Maybe you want to try that and see if you find anything else.
If you do decide to reset to factory defaults, it's Menu, Settings, Privacy, Factory Data Reset, Reset Phone. ALL OF THE DATA ON YOUR PHONE WILL BE DELETED
I think I'd take my phone in to a Verizon store first.
