We get questions like this all the time:
We have AT & T wireless mobile and internet for the house. We are looking for suggestions on 'internet on the go' for our laptop in our motorhome. Any good suggestions for us?
Here's Jim's recent answer:
The 'best' depends on many factors. Mostly, how much you *need* the Internet and where you will be traveling.
There are 3 ways to connect to the Internet while traveling; WiFi, Satellite, and Cellular.
Cellular is probably the best for most people. It can be used in motion, going down the road.
Verizon has the best overall nationwide coverage, but if you travel and stay where AT&T has good coverage, you will be fine with AT&T.
Price and bandwidth. A new AT&T service will limit you to 3GB per month. Verizon is 5GB per month. Some folks have unlimited bandwidth with AT&T. If you do, then keep it!
If you have more than one computer, you need a way to share your bandwidth. There are cellular routers, wireless tethering, and MiFi devices.
WiFi is available in lots of places. Your computer is probably ready to use it. It is often free. It can be the fastest connection.
Satellite is expensive and really for folks who have to be connected wherever they are.
