Well, it sounds like you’re doing things right, sometimes we don’t know what’s happening. I will say though that phones – the Android operating system – are not like computers. Filing systems are not really intended to be manipulated by the user.
Can we back up? What is your goal? It sounds like you are trying to backup your photos and clear your phone’s memory. That is what Google Photos does all on its own. Make sure you have the Backup and Sync turned on. If you can see your photos on a computer at photos.google.com then they’ve been backed up from your phone to your Google account.
If you want, you can make one extra cloud copy using OneDrive, Prime Photos, or Dropbox. Or copy photos directly to your computer with a USB cable.
Then, to clear your phone’s memory you can use Google Photos, 3-line menu, Free Up Space. That one click will delete all the photos from your phone’s memory.
Have we already been thru this?
What do you think?
We are still in New Orleans – Loving it! We just got to Pontchartrain Landing RV park where we’re giving our seminars for Carriage Travel Club this week.

So, again, I’ve gone to My Files, clicked on Internal, clicked on Videos. Then selected all 19, selected MOVE to SD card.
They’re there – but they’re also still in the (internal) camera!
Same with the photos!
Storage has changed only 2 or 3 MBs!
What am I doing wrong!?
Just out of curiosity, I tried again – My file, Images (6700) MOVE to SD. New album! Does about 4k, then stops and says ‘Failed To Move! 1st for that msg!
Internal is @ 26mb of 32mb.
SD Card is at 15mb of 32mb.
Figured I should be close to maxing card & clearing 1/2 of Internal memory!
