Interesting question with lots of different possibilities here.
You say the pictures are in My Drive on a Chromebook – I assume that those are the same files that can be seen by using a browser and going to https://drive.google.com/ If so, go to photos.google.com and click on the Upload button and you’ll see Google Drive as an option of where to upload photos from.
If I’m wrong and the photos are just on your chromebook and not in the cloud version of Google Drive, then get back to me here. Let me know about how many photos we’re talking about and what folders they’re in.

You are correct. These are the same files that can be seen when going to https://drive.google.com/ However, I can not locate an upload button at photos.google.com. If I had pushed an upload button, what would it do?
