Google Play Services keeps popping up

I have a Gmail account that I was using for DOAI Treasurer business.  I   longer Treasurer andnolonger have access to that gmail account.  However, Google Play Services keeps popping up whenever I open my phone and at various times while I am using my Android phone with the message ” You were signed out of your google account. Sign  in again to continue.”

To get rid of this message and close Google play I have to click on the lower left side and get listing off all open items and close Google Play but it will then reappear in a few minutes.  

How can I get rid of this  message so it won’t keep popping up?

hmmm – well Google Play needs some account in order to work. Have you tried logging in with your own Google account?

Check your system settings, Accounts, Google and see what account shows up there. If it is the treasurer’s account, you should delete it and add your own, that should clear things up.

Let me know if that helps, or if we need to explore more.

I opened Settings, Accounts and Google and the four google accounts I have including the Treasurer one appeared and I tapped on the Treasurerr account and Sync Settings opened. I turned off all the Sync Settings but it still shows up.  I can not figure out how to delete that account. Help?

There’s one more step. After selecting the treasurer account, tap the 3 dot menu and Remove Account.

The only choice I am offered from the three dots is to “sync all”  and then down at the bottom it says Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.  

Still popping up.

hmmm – I would try Restarting the phone. 

There’s got to be a Remove Account somewhere.  Maybe try long-pressing on the account name? What is the exact type of phone you have?

“Sync is currently experiencing problems” comes up a lot. It shouldn’t affect the ability to remove account.
