I have to return my “new” laptop to the Mfgr for yet another problem, which means that when it is returned, it will most likely, once again have a clean hard drive and I will have to reload every thing again for the 4th time including 54G of photos. I do have them all backed up to an external HD but, … I want to consider uploading them to G+ also. However, if I have more than 15G, do I have to have a G Drive account in order to handle 54G worth?
I’m still a bit fuzzy on this cloud stuff. LOL
I am getting to like Google+ more and more to store ALL my pictures. I have 30,000 pictures there. IF you are willing to upload them in a reduced size (2,048 pixels – plenty big for me) then you have unlimited FREE space on Google+ Photos. Any pictures you upload to Google Drive are using up your 15GB of alloted space.
Google Drive is a ‘normal’ cloud-storage system for any type of file. Google+ Photos is specially designed just for photos.
Does that help?
Thanks for the info Chris. Which generates more questions for me.
Under Tools; Batch upload: … it appears that is for uploading to G Drive? Hence a 15G Limit. But I like the batch idea.
However also under tools: Upload: to G+ photos. But do I have to upload one folder at a time or is there a “batch” method to do that? If so, I haven’t been able to figure it out yet. I have 265 folders plus about 40 Albums. Though just about all of the fotos are taged.
Thanks for the help.
Hmmm – I never even noticed the Upload to G+ command under Tools, but is the same thing as the “Share on Google+ button at the bottom of the screen. Both of them will upload whatever is in your selection tray. That can be 1 picture or 100 – I would consider that a ‘batch.’
So, selecting the pictures you want to upload seems to be the key to your question. You just need to collect them in the selection tray. Have you watched the selecting video:
Let me know if this helps.
So I looked at pics 10, and as usual, I learned more good stuff.
So with a little experimenting, … I selected a folder (of 34 pics), selected the HOLD, and selected another folder, with another hold. Both folders were held in the selection tray to be uploaded to G+?
So if I select several folders at a time, HOLDing each as selected, I should be able to SHARE them all at once?
Would take a bit of time to do 264 folders but very doable as compared to selecting pics.
