When using Picassa in my desktop (windows 10), when I play back movies I had made in Picassa ( .wmv files) the audio plays but not the video. On my laptop (also win 10) I get both.. they play perfectly. Earlier they had played fine on my desktop. In tools/options/file types, I do have everything checked. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. OK! What did I screw up?
Ahh the mysteries of video playback. The issue has to do with the video player that is being used. Try right-clicking on your .wmv file and choose “open with” to see what your choices are and try them. If nothing works, I would install the VLC player and “Open with” that.
You may want to convert the .wmv to .mp4 for greater compatibility. I see that VLC has a convert option as well, but when I tried it – I lost the audio on my little clip. I would trust Filmora to do the conversion, but it’s not free. Handbrake is a well-known, free, video converter.
