Viewing photos from external hard drive/Picasa 3.9 something different?

Morning, I have about 5 years of photos that I’ve moved to a western digital external hard drive for storage (did this over a year ago). I noticed this morning that when the external hd is plugged in to my laptop now the photos are not coming up in my time line in either flat folder structure or tree structure. I have Picasa 3.9. They used to appear in my timeline in Picasa as soon as I plugged in the ext hd and unlocked it. I can find them and view them by accessing the external hd through windows explorer, but I loved the beauty of plugging in the ext hd and being able to view them in the timeline. Am I forgetting something, or doing something incorrect? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Love the Geeks forum, user library and facebook page!

Had this once after an up date the system was not set to scan the external drive you might try checking tools menu make sure the ext drive is on the scan list

Two words = You’re Brilliant!

That was it. All I had to do was go to Tools > Folder Manager and choose Scan Always the folder I had them in on my external hard drive. Thank you
