I have about 20,000 photos within 100 named Albums in Google Photos. I understand how to sort the individual photos within these albums, but I’d also like to sort the individual Albums, in numerical order, beginning with the Album named “Book 1” and ending with “Book 100”. Currently, the Albums are in no particular order (just randomly presented), and it would be much easier to find the album I’m looking for if they were in numberical order.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is something that Google Photos can’t do yet. I’ve been asking for album sorting since Google Photos first came out. It still hasn’t happened.
Meanwhile, there is a method to the madness – albums are in date order by the date of the most recent photo inside the album. So, when I need to be able to find an album quickly when I am adding photos to it, I make sure to add a very recent photo to the album, that moves it to the top of the list.
You can also search for album when you’re viewing your library. When you see the icon with a mountain and a ribbon, you know the search has found an album
