What does it mean in the comments in Youtube when someone “pins”  something?

How do you do it?

What does it do?

Why would one use it?

Thank you.

Pinning a comment means putting it at the top and keeping it there even if other comments are added afterward. You can only pin comments on your own videos. You do it by clicking the 3-dot menu at the right of the comment and choose pin.

If we had dozens of comments on one of our videos and there was one that I want to be sure everyone sees even if they don’t scroll down – I would pin it.
