I read the ad for Picasa Uploader Pro which sounded wonderfull and I ordered it.  $4.99 from Amazon.com  It promises all sorts of wonderful things:

Send 200 photos at once

Upload photos to any facebook page you administer.  This indicated I could post to my group Chevy Volt Facebook Owners using a picasa uploader which I could not do with the original one.

I have the upgrade code, but am unable to unlock the additional features.

Have you tried it yet?

Thank you!

Sorry, I don’t know anything about Uploader Pro.  You say you got it on Amazon, yet when I search amazon I get no results for Picasa Uploader Pro.  If I google it, I find a couple mentions of smartphone apps – but still nothing about installing a button on Picasa to upload to Facebook.

Can you give us a link?

OK, I got it!
First of all, I needed to go back to the facebook page for the App (https://apps.facebook.com/pica…..esktop.php) and re-install it because the version I had did not include a link to ‘Upgrade to Pro Version’

When I re-installed, I got a new Facebook button for Picasa. When you hover over this one I see “Upload to Facebook (Desktop)”

Next, in Picasa, I had to pretend to start uploading some pictures … select one picture, click the Facebook button. Now my screen includes a link to Upgrade to Pro Version … it’s at the bottom.  When I click that, there is an option to either purchase the product, or to activate it after purchase.

So … if you already purchased it, and you have the activation key and email you used to buy it, here’s what you do:

  1. In Picasa, start the upload to facebook process by selecting a picture and clicking the Facebook button
  2. Click the ‘Upgrade to Pro version’ link
  3. You should now see a place to put the activation code

Does that work for you?

Yes, but it takes a lot of practice to get proficient with it.

You must sign out of the facebook page you have on IE or it will be posted from that page.

You must clear out your IE cookies if the prompt to a different facebook account does not come up.

You then after selecting picture(s) to upload and getting the prompt sign in to the account you wish to upload the picture(s) to and provide the password.

Then it does work and seems faster and more efficient that the regular desktop uploader.

Is it worth $4.99 ?      After I took all of the necessary steps I would say yes, but it is takes a lot of effort to get started!
