I am a long time Picasa user and have recently decided to take the plunge to convert to Google Photos. Unfortunately, when I try to sign in to my Google account or try to upload to Google Photos (while in Picasa), I get an error “There was a problem authenticating your account”. Until I get past this, it appears I cannot “link” between Picasa and Google Photos.
Any suggestions?

Judy,
Nope – you won’t be able to “link” Picasa and Google Photos. Picasa was retired in 2016 and all ability to interact online was terminated in 2018. But, realize that your photos are not “In” Picasa, they are stored on your computer’s hard drive, probably in the Pictures folder. See this article: https://learngooglephotos.com/…..re-warned/
So you use the methods to upload photos from your computer. I think you have the Learn Google Photos book – please review chapter 3: Collecting the rest of your photos and videos. Picasa is specifically covered on pages 46-47. You may also want to watch episode 132 of our YouTube show Google Photos for Picasa Users (the main lesson starts about 5 minutes in)
