PRIOR TO JUNE 1ST I FOLLOWED ALL OF YOUR INSTRUCTIONS IN YOUR BOOK SO TO NOT BE CHARGED FOR PHOTO STORAGE. THE NUMBER THERE SAID ZERO. BUT JUNE BEGAN CHARGING $1.99 PER MONTH AND THERE IS A NUMBER AT THE PHOTO STORAGE NOT ZERO. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT THINGS TO FIX THIS BUT EVEN THE GOOGLE SUPPORT COULD NOT HELP. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
First – you say that “the number there said zero” – I assume you are referring to the Google Photos storage number on this page: https://one.google.com/storage. If the Google Photos number was zero on June 1 – that’s great! That’s what mine was. If you, as I, have continued to use Google Photos then it’s appropriate for the number to be greater than zero now, but it shouldn’t be much. But, Google Photos is not the only service that uses this space. What do your other two numbers say?
- Google Drive = ?
- Gmail = ?
- Google Photos = ?
All 3 services share the 15GB free storage that Google gives you. So, if you’re over 15GB, it’s probably not Google Photos fault.
Second, they don’t start charging you unless you sign up for a plan. If you’re being charged 1.99, then somewhere along the line you signed up for the 100GB plan. You can cancel that plan by going to this page, scroll down to the bottom and click on Cancel Membership.
Let me know if that helps.
