New DSLR movies play haltingly in Picasa

I recently upgraded my DSLR camera body, both Nikons. While experimenting with it, I took several movies, and downloaded them to Picasa on my computer. To my disapointment, they play haltingly in Picasa, but play smoothly in the camera. Movies from my previous DSLR always have and still do, play smoothly on Picasa as well. Any thoughts anyone?

I am using the latest Picasa 3.9.

PIcasa is not the best movie viewer.  My bet is that your new DSLR takes higher definition videos – bigger files – and Picasa is just choking on it.  hmmm – I just played one of my new DSLR videos in Picasa and it worked pretty good.  Maybe there’s something else going on on your computer?  Try rebooting, then go straight to Picasa and play video – any difference?

Let me know.
