I was surprised with a gift of a netbook from my DH, to use when we are traveling sans motorhome. We are heading for a cruise to Alaska and not sure how to handle downloading my pics. I have installed Picasa to my netbook, but not sure how to proceed so that I can use the netbook to download and view when I don't have the laptop with me but eventually want all the pics on the laptop.
Should I download all my pics into a web album and pick them up on the laptop or wait until I am home and transfer them via my external hard drive?
Or is there a better solution?
Thanks for your help!
Hey! We're planning an Alaska cruise too! End of September.
I certainly thing you should upload the photos to a Web Album – and tell us the address!
Ok, congrats on your Netbook – you'll love it. I think the external hard drive is the best ideas. So – the netbook is your picture storage device while you're on the trip, then transfer them to the External Hard Drive when you get home. (use Picasa's 'Move Folder' to accomplish this. See this article:

including a video.
Then, just connect the USB hard drive to your laptop and tell Picasa to watch the pictures there.
