question via email:

I am trying to make a yearbook type album for Palm Creek Softball and can't figure out a program to do it in. If I try picsa the names don't stay on collage and someone said to excel but don't know how to get rid of grids. thought maybe you would be able to help me

I would like to see a sample of what you're trying to accomplish.  I still think  Picasa can do it.

You may need to add names using text tool later, after creating the collage, or use the collage feature to show captions on polaroid style borders.

As for pictures on the page, if you use the Grid type of collage then Picasa requires an even number of pictures.  If you give it an uneven number it will duplicate one on the collage.  What I recommend is to have one blank picture … I create a blank using the collage feature.  See this article on how I do that: http://picasatutorials.com/200…..-collages/

to make the following collage, I selected faces from the people albums, also selected one blank blue image made previously with the collage tool.  I clicked collage and selected Grid type.  I increased the grid spacing to make room for names.  Then I completed the collage.  I then used the text tool on the completed collage.  Just click and type 11 times – once each for the 11 faces.
