I have no trouble putting Google Photos albums in my regular facebook account but am not able to place the album in a facebook group.

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you very much.

Instead of sharing the album to Facebook, use the share button – then get a link. Now go to wherever you want to share that in Facebook and paste the link.

Let me know if that works for you.

It did work, thank you, but some very interesting things happened.

I used this method in two posts which were very popular in the group, and to some outside of the group. Perhaps you received one or both.  One had 136 “likes”, 25 comments and 12 shares.  The other had 107 likes, 12 comments and 13 shares.

When I go to the “shared” section of Google Photos I find I am sharing these albums with people I don’t know, but are in my facebook group, I think.  For example one has you (me), Fran and Steve.  The other has you (me) and Lynn.  I don’t exactly know who Fran, Steve and Lynn are.  I assume they are members of this group, but am not sure.

Then there are the 12 and 13 shares listed right with the post on facebook.  Is this complicated by using the link in Google Photos?  Who are these “shared” shared with?

Thank you very much.

I did not notice an album shared by you. What facebook group was it?

As for how people you don’t know are on the ‘shared with’ list – that happens when others re-share. The way Google Photos shares works is that anyone with a link can see the photos, so if someone re-shares it, those recipients can see it as well.

As for using the link, or sharing the album, the end result is actually the same. In fact, I think you should have been able to share the album with the group in the first place.

Am using this method with success, but have a problem.

When I post an album to a facebook group it only posts the cover photo on the group page.  I have to put an note in the comments to click on the post to see the additional photos.

Is there any way to post all of the photos in an album at once?

This is happening in my very small facebook group page on the puzzle     The Missing Link

Thank you very much.

The only way to post all of the photos in an, instead of a link to an album, is with a mobile device.

When you’re using the Google Photos app

  1. Open the album and select all photos in the album
  2. Tap the share button, choose Facebook
  3. On Android: it will share each picture to Facebook
  4. On iPhone: You should see options: Share as: small, actual, shared album, create link
If you choose small or actual – all selected pictures will be posted in Facebook instead of the link

Hope that helps

I tried this but had a problem, it became a regular facebook post and not one to my facebook group.  I really don’t wish to post it on my page and have it go to all of my facebook friends, so I deleted  the post at that point

Is there a way I can get all of the selected pictures in the album posted in the specific facebook group.

Thank you very much.

The above was when I was trying to post from the ipad.

I tried on the computer.  It is better, but it still only enters the first picture.  When that is clicked on it opens up the full 16 pictures of the album.

It is posted in the facebook  group   The Missing Link

Thank you.

That’s another issue. After you tap Share, and Facebook – it assumes you want to share to your timeline, but you do have options. Look to the right side and you’ll see a faint arrow, tap that and you’ll see the option to post to Timeline, Page, or Group. Tap group and you’re on your way.

Here’s a screenshot showing exactly what I mean (click to enlarge):
