If  I have a number of photos to send to someone and I want to add text showing where I took the photo or something else. What is the easiest way to add text to the photo?

If you use Google Photos – and you’re sharing with someone who also uses Google Photos – the easiest way is to add descriptions.

  • on mobile: open photo, swipe up, enter text in “Add description”
  • on computer: Open photo, tap i for Info, enter text in “Add description”

Let me know if that works for you, otherwise, I’ll give you other options.

Yes , that adds a description of the photo, but what if you want to have some text right on the photo, like a baby photo and the age of the child is written on the photo

Ah, yes. Google Photos on Android has the ability to add text on the photo itself. Tap edit, then the squiggle, then the Tt. It’s easy and works well, but it has NO options other than text color. For more options, or if you have iPhone and not Android, I use Snapseed for putting text on photos. See this video: 598.GP-Snapseed Text Tool

If you like that, you may be interested in taking the snapseed course, GeeksOnTour premium members get it free.
