We have an ipad that has updated to IOS 12.4 and one iphone has updated to IOS 12.4 . The other iphone still has IOS 12.3.1 , but is trying to update. I am able to cast to Chromecast on TV screens with the one that has IOS 12.3.1 , but not with the other two. On them there is no option for casting (the little square with the squiggly lines in one corner).
Is there anyway I can cast from Google Photos on these devices? I really enjoyed casting from Google Photos on all devices.
I found an app called Photo Cast that sort of works on my ipad. It works from all photos, but not from Google Photo albums.
I have been trying to use My Cast and Photo Cast on the iphone without results. It just wants to upgrade.
Is there anyway to get the option to cast back in Google Photos once it has upgraded?
Thank you very much.
This is a known bug in Google Photos right now. Nothing you can do until it gets fixed. Here is the Google help thread where you can watch the progress.
It’s always good to add your “me too” to the issue by submitting feedback. In the google photos app, tap the 3-line menu and scroll down to feedback. Start the feedback with the phrase ‘CROMECAST ICON MISSING since updating to version 4.23’ along with any other thoughts you would like to add,
