My wife and I share a Google Photos account across three IOS devices.

Recently we took a trip and took many photos.

When we got home and were on our WiFi network our photos synced together as always.

She then started creating a series of albums for different segments of the trip

The albums and content appear properly on our windows computer, her iPhone and her iPad.

My iPhone shows the albums with indicated proper number of photos, but doesn’t display the complete photo set when I open the album.

I’ve checked storage margins, settings and everything I can think of but to no avail.

This is a first time issue after using the Google Photos app for years.

We have purchased the 200 GB plan and are uploading in high quality.

All photos are shown properly, it’s just the album contents on my iPhone that doesn’t display completely.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ron

It sounds like you’re doing everything right (well, except I usually advise against sharing one account)

I suspect that the photos not showing up in the album for you is just a glitch. It will hopefully fix itself. If, after a few days, it hasn’t – I would restart the phone, maybe even uninstall and reinstall Google Photos.

If the problem still persists, I’d be happy to do a Zoom call with you and see if I can figure anything out.

Would the uninstall / reinstall approach require GP to download all my photos in my library?

How long might that take?

We’re talking 20 years worth,,,

Oops,  we still have the basic 16 GB free storage plan.

The 220 GB is our Apple iCloud account.

Our GP storage is only using 2 GB of the 16 GB free.

Logging in to our GP account on either Windows computer or either of my wife’s IOS devices shows the complete set of pictures in all albums.

I just updated my iPhone XR to IOS 4.5 and still show the incomplete  number of photos in each album.

I recently built a  new album on my Windows computer and that one shows up full and fine on my iPhone XR.

Still confused…

Problem solved!

Remove and reinstall my GP ap updated all the albums with the complete set of photos in each one.

And the complete photo and album population took only 10 minutes.

My backup and sycn only took another 5 minutes.

Thanks Chris.
