Just when I thought I had a fairly good understanding of Picasa I am frustrated by what is probably one of the more basics.
I have one Folder every year from 1981 thru 2010. When I viewed my folders today, I was only able to see 2010 down to 2002. Folder Manager has all my folders listed but I don't know how to bring them up to the sidebar. I haven't found the key to display 1981 through 2002. Help!!! I almost paniced but remembered they'll still be on my Hard Drive.
hmmm … any possibiliity you have a search term in the search box? If you see a button in the upper left area that says “Back to View All” make sure to click that.
A folder for each year sounds good! They certainly should be listed along the left unless some option is filtering them out.
Another way to view pictures is with the timeline. Try that just to see that Picasa is indeed showing them – click the View menu, then Timeline. If you see the pictures there, double click on them and it shows a slide show – exit the slide show and you'll be back at the library with that folder showing.
Chris, thank you!!! I was pretty certain the pictures weren't lost but what a relief…Thanks again
I checked the search term and then did Timeline. Found the folders from the 80's on the timeline the list and the list on the left side looks like this:
I could not get them ordered by year even though I asked for order by date. Any ideas on that?
One thought that comes to mind is that 1988 and 1987 probably are scanned photos – since digital cameras didn't exist then. They will have dates representing the dates they were scanned rather than dates taken. You can change the date for the whole folder easily by double-clicking on the folder and changing the date to reflect the time the photos were taken.
