I have folders with many duplicate pictures in them. Some folders have over 300 pictures in them, many of them duplicates. It would take a long time to look through all those pictures and try to choose the duplicate pictures to delete. Is there a button I can click on that would identify the duplicate pictures by highlighting them for easy deletion?
Removing duplicates is not an easy task no matter how you slice it. You need to study the pictures and see why there are duplicates. Usually you will find that there are duplicate folders where you have exported pictures or had some other reason to make duplicates. Be sure to check the file size – if you have two copies of one picture and one copy is the original at 2 megabytes and another is an exported duplicate at 300 Kilobytes – you want to be sure you delete the smaller one, not the original!
Picasa does have a tool that will help on Tools, Experimental, Show Duplicate Files

There are also programs availalble that help you find *and delete* duplicate files on your entire computer I have not used any of these personally – so the link is to a CNET search for all such programs. Make sure to read the reviews before deciding to download one of these.
