Hey Chuck,
hmmm – Google Photos works a lot better if you limit it to one account. Does one of your accounts take a lot more photos than the other? If so, I would designate that account as the holder for all the photos, then share the photos belonging to the other account. I’ll get back to that, first let me tell you the process for having two accounts and only uploading the photos that belong to each.
You won’t be able to use the auto upload, because that will upload all photos on the phone, there is no way to designate which photos to upload to which accounts. You would need to keep AutoBackup OFF. Then you can set the account, select the photos and manually upload. Here are the steps:
- Keep Backup and sync off, take photos for business account
- Go into Google Photos settings, Backup and Sync on, set to business account
- Turn Backup and Sync OFF – otherwise it will start uploading ALL your photos to that account
- Back to your library, select the photos to upload to business account, tap the cloud with up arrow to manually upload those photos
- Take photos for personal account
- Go into settings, Backup and Sync – turn on just long enough to change the account, change to personal account, turn backup and sync back off
- Back to your library, select the photos to upload to personal account, tap the up arrow cloud
YUK! WAAAYYY too much work!
I would do this:
- Pick one account to be primary … lets say personal. Go into settings Backup and Sync ON, set to personal account
- Take photos, both personal and business – they will all be uploaded to your personal account
- Whenever you get around to it, Select business photos and add to album for business, share that album with your business account
- On a computer, photos.google.com, logged in to your business account.
- You should see the business album shared from your personal account. Save those photos to the Business photo library by clicking the cloud button with the down arrow … see Google Photos book, p. 80
- Now you could go back to your personal account and delete all the photos in the business album
I think, if you try that, you’ll find it’s not so bad. Hope that helps.
