Don’s phone is set to upload his photos to my google account. I don’t believe he has a google photos account of his own. All his photos should be coming to my account. Eventually, they do…….BUT………it takes forever and uses almost his whole battery power before they finally pop into the account. Any idea why it takes so long???
Separate question: When I click on the google photos icon on his phone, it looks as if his photos are already there But when I look at my computer, they are not there…nor do I see them when I look at google photos on my phone.
When you say you look at Don’s Google Photos on his phone and it looks like his photos are there, do you mean the photos taken by that phone? If so, that’s the way it works. You could use Google PHotos to view the photos taken by a phone without ever uploading to the Google Photos cloud. It acts just like a gallery in that way. But, the main purpose is to upload to the cloud so you can see them from any connected device with Google Photos.
As for the slowness, I’m not sure. Google Photos uploads faster when the app is actually open. If he doesn’t have his own Google PHotos account, maybe he doesn’t care much about photos and is not opening the app much?
The other factor in upload speed is the Internet connection.
What kind of phone does he have? Does he have any battery saving settings on? One of the things that battery savers do is prevents uploads.
Let me know if any of this helps.
