In Sept (2019), we returned from a 6500 mile RV trip. I made an Album of the trip (Approx 500 pictures) and I also made a similar Album for my 1st wife’s pictures (Similar qty) on her gmail account. My goal was to copy her Album pictures into my gmail account Album.

No Joy.

Using my computer, (Win 10) this is what I tried:

Copied her Album into my Album account. Now have 2 separate albums (N & C) in my account with similar and different pictures of same event.

I tried dragging, cut/paste and several other options to move some or all her (N) album photos into my (C) album, buy no joy.

Question: What is the correct procedure to copy (N) Album photos into (C)’s Album?

Goal: to choose using (1) Album, which pictures to add to a PPT for a local presentation of our trip.

Since we may have similar and some different pictures of same event, I want to view (1) location (Album) to choose which picture to use in the PPT.

Realizing you and Jim probably combine each others pictures into 1 album frequently, looking for your advice of easiest or best method.

Tks & Stay safe, Chuck

My apology for not being able to figure this out as I am sure you covered this, but I have a short memory !

Hey Chuck,

No apology necessary – this is not a simple question, and you’ve put it quite well for me to go thru the process.

The problem is this: you cannot add a photo to your album unless you “own” that photo. When you’re looking at N’s album, those photos belong to her. You have to first save them to your account – but even then, the photos in her album are still hers, you need to find the photo that got saved to your account and add it to your album. So … here are the steps:

  1. open N’s album and select the photos you want
  2. Click the icon in upper right for “add to library” – it looks like a cloud with a down arrow –
OR, skip step #1 and just click “add to library” to get ALL the photos in the album saved to your account
  3. Close N’s album and return to your Photos
now, the problem is that the photos you just saved to your library are interspersed according to date taken
  4. View your photos in order of “Date Added” by using the search box and type “recently added”
now you should be seeing all the photos “added today” at the top of your photos. Since you just added N’s photos,
they should be showing up all together at the top.
  5. NOW, you can select those photos and add to your album

I don’t think it’s quite as bad as it sounds. Let me know if you have more questions. Sounds like something I could make a video on.
