If this is covered someplace, I can’t find it, please point me to it. I would like to control/determine the sequence/order of photos within a GP album. The photos may have been taken at different times and have different names but are photos of the same subject. Creating separate albums is not a good solution.
I figured it out. Edit the album ( 3 dot menu, upper left corner of window), long hold the photo, drag and drop..tap the check mark to be done…simple when you know how….you can delete this if you want.
Good job Richard, you’re exactly right.
Check out p. 80 in the Google Photos book for more on customizing albums. In case you didn’t know, you can download the book from here– it’s included with your membership.

I have a somewhat related question. I want to download some of my albums in Google Photos on my Mac to identical albums in Apple Photos. The photos in the Google Photos album have been arranged in the sequence I want not necessarily in chronological order. When I do the download however the sequence in the new Apple Photos album has changed. Is there a way I can move an album on my Mac from Google Photos to Apple Photos without changing the sequence of the images?
