I am adding descriptions to photos in Google Photos just fine.  But if I have edited the picture in Snapseed, the description box no longer comes up.  How do I add a description to a photo that has been edited in Snapseed?  BTW, I know how to add text on the photo itself.  I am wanting to know how to tag my photos in the description field in Google Photos on photos edited in Snapseed, like I do on unedited photos in Google Photos.

It took a little investigating, but I do see what you mean. This looks like a bug to me – I am able to add descriptions to Snapseed generated photos from a while back, but when I try to do so on a recent photo the description field disappears before my very eyes.

More investigation – I just edited a photo using Snapseed and, back in Google Photos I tried to add a description. The description field simply was not there. I noticed that this photo had not yet been uploaded because I see a cloud icon with an up arrow in the upper right of the photo. So I tapped on that icon to force it to upload now. Once it was done, the description field appeared, but disappeared before I could type. I waited a few more minutes and now I am able to type a description for this snapseed file.

Check that out and let me know if it works for you.

Chris – seemed to work.  As you said, very cumbersome especially when on cellular only.  Took several minutes/photo – not a feature to use regularly with that kind of lag unless on robust WiFi.

Thanks SO MUCH for the reply.
