I am having difficulty in finding how to search along the route on the web version of Google Maps. I’ve reach that If I choose the navigation button that the option will come up, but I don’t see where that navigation button is. Several queries on the browser refer to a button at the lower left. I’m stumped.
In order to search along route, you must be actively navigating a route with live turn-by-turn directions. This can only be done on the app for mobile devices with GPS. Although the web version of Google Maps can show you directions, it cannot actively navigate.
Then I decided to check it out just to be sure and, lo and behold, I do see a way to search along route in the Web version. Once you have directions showing, you should see a search button with the magnifying glass and “More” that opens a search box that does indeed search along route. Click the image below to enlarge.

I tried to upload a snapshot of a JR Rafael newsletter I got yesterday, and the file was too large. Anyway he said that the option to search along the route had been added to the website of Google Maps and that’s what I was trying to follow.
Enjoyed the Zoom meeting Friday. Gary is getting PT and we have a bunch of trips to take this next year, including 6 cruises to make up from the Pandemic. We will be leaving from Fort Lauderdale to sail in the Caribbean and back to back thru the new Panama Canal. I love the new edits on the Google Phone app. There’s a lot of change.
