Question from an Email:
I have a Droid 2 Global and get notified every time something posts on FB. The blue light flashes too. I’ve tried to change the settings on the phone to no avail. Can you tell me the trick.
Answer:
Those are Facebook notifications and you control them in Facebook – using your computer not your phone. Go to your account settings (the little dropdown arrow to the right of your name in the upper right corner when you’re logged in to facebook.) Click on Account Settings, then you should see ‘Notifications’ as an option on the left sidebar menu.
The first section shows you all the emails that have been sent to you recently – you can click the little envelope icon and disable that type of notification.
If you scroll down a bit, you see a looong list of all the different items that you can get notified on – you control each and every one of them, click on ‘Edit’ to the right of each item. Then you can check or uncheck whether or not to get email.
OR
You can check the one box at the very top of the screen to “Send me important updates and summary emails instead of individual notification emails” Checking that box will drastically reduce the number of email notifications you get.
