I took your class on Facebook at the Escapade this year. You recommended that we set up a second e-mail address and a mobile phone number which I did. Now Facebook texts us whenever we get a friend request or a new message. I have deleted the phone number because we don't have a cell phone plan that includes free texts (we have to pay $0.25 each). Unfortunately we are still being texted with friend requests. Can you give me a clue as to how to stop this from happening? Thanks.
I still recommend that you have a cell phone number included in your Facebook profile. But, you can turn off all text notifications by going to your Account Settings, Mobile, Notifications … Click on Edit at the right and choose Off to turn all text messaging notifications off.
