Q: I have been saving photos that appear on my Face Book wall into Word for Mac. I would like to move them from Word to Picasa 3.9.16. So far, I have not been able to figure out how to do this. In order to avoid this problem in future, I would like to save Face Book photos directly to Picasa 3.9.16 but can’t figure out how to do that either. Is there some way that I can accomplish both of these tasks? Thanks.
A: I’m not sure how you are ‘saving … into Word for Mac.’ Usually when a picture is in a Word document, it is part of the document and doesn’t have a life of its own. You can always get the document with the picture on the screen, then do a screen capture – but the quality will be much less than the original.
As for saving from Facebook directly to your computer (so Picasa can see it) that’s easy. Just view the picture full screen (click on it from your wall) in Facebook. You should now see some menu options at the bottom of the screen, Click on Options and you should see an item to Download. Then just specify a folder somewhere under your Pictures folder – depending on your browser, you may need to click on Save As in order to specify an appropriate folder. In Safari, it probably downloads it to your downloads folder, so you need to move it to somewhere under Pictures, you can do that from the preview by clicking on File->Move to….choose Pictures, then other to choose a folder under Pictrues. Next time you open Picasa, you will see that picture in your Library.
