I read with much interest your article on using Google Takeout to backup my web albums on my hard drive. I was able to create the archive file, and when it was ready, hit the “download” button as prompted.
My page then reads “loading information about archive. . .” and has been sitting there for about an hour and half. After all this time, I had to log out as the Popeye Express as I needed to change to my business email and get to work!
I noticed no little wheel turning on the tab above, which usually indicates to me the program is working. I don't believe I did anything out of sequence as it seemed to be working up to that point.
Could it possibly take this long to complete? <img class="sfsmiley" title="Confused" onclick="sfjLoadSmiley('sf-confused.gif', 'Confused', 'https://geeksontour.com/wp-cont…..', '', '1');” src=”https://geeksontour.com/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-confused.gif” alt=”Confused” /> Any suggestions would be appreciated. Happy New Year to you and Jim!
Well – it is a pretty big file. Depending on your Internet connection, it could definitely take 1-2 hrs.
Did you notice just how big it is? You can go back there and see … Just go to http://www.google.com/takeout , make sure you're logged in as the proper user, and you should see a tab for 'Downloads'
