Transfer pictures to Picasa format.

Hi, I will try this forums format once again.  The first time I didn't press the right buttons.  Anyway, I am very new to Picasa and have the basic book and videos.  I found them to be very helpful and I am beginning to understand Picasa.  The main thing I currently can't figure out is why some of my pictures in large folders didn't transfer over to the Picasa format in the same order in which I had them setup My Pictures.  I had 6 folders that each had 160 picture files.  When these folders were tranfered over to Picasa the pictures in these folders got all mixed up.  That was no easy task to get these pictures back in the correct order.  What gives with this problem?

One other comment.  I noticed that if I use Picasa email format that it will send great pictures.  However, if I want to add some narrative along with the pictures I do not have the capibility to check spelling.  Most email formats I have used do have spell check.  Gary Atkins.

Gary,

Thanks for posting in the forum!  It's important to us that everyone gets to see the questions and answers … and to contribute if they have pertinent information.

As for sort order – I'm wondering how you put them in order outside of Picasa?

Picasa supports three different ways of sorting with a folder: Name (alphabetically by filename) Date, or Size  When you move the pictures around manually – that is just a temporary order.  Check out this article: http://picasatutorials.com/200…..rder/ and see if it helps.

As for no spell-check in the email … you're right, I never noticed that!  When Picasa uses gmail to send pictures, it uses a mini-gmail if you will.  It doesn't have the full functionality of the main gmail program … nothing we can do about that.

Chris, I sent you and email concerning transfer pictures to Picasa format.  Your reponse to my question was right on the mark.  I didn't have filename checked.  Gary.
