I have been using Takeout to backup up several Google products on a semi-regular basis for the past year. I backup each product individually for a total of 4 archives. Recently I have been limited to queing 2 archives to be done. This is new behavior, in the past I was able to que all 4 archives and would be notified via email when each completed. Now I have to wait for 2 archives to complete and then do the additional 2. I have notified Google support about this change in behavior.
You’ve gotten further with Google Takeout than I have! I don’t know about the behavior change – good to know.
PeggyK is who I would look to for more info: https://www.peggyktc.com/2019/…..tml#more The article is specifically about downloading YouTube videos – but it is all about Takeout.
I have been using Google Takeout to backup several Google products I use. I now need to restore one of the backups but can’t find anyplace that tells me how to restore. I have Googled for this info and it seems that you can’t restore a Takeout file. I know this can’t be, if there is a backup there is a way to restore.
Are you referring to Google Photos? or some other takeout data?
I also have not found any processes by Google that will restore from Takeout files. For Google Photos, the only way I know is to unzip all the zip files, find the resulting folders that have the .jpg files in them and upload them to your google photos. The backup and sync utility can be used for this purpose. It won’t get your albums back, just the photos.
Does that help?
