Hi Chris, I know I’m old school and have been changing over to google photos. However the Upload to Google Photos Button in Picasa would still upload the photos I wanted in Google Photos for me until Yesterday.
Now there is an error message: an error “Unknown Server” followed by a very long code, consisitng of both letters and numbers. Any ideas why this suddenly is happening.
There is probably no way to override this and Google will not likely fix the issue. Have you heard anything?
We are in New Zealand and I have a lot of pictures ready to upload from Picasa for the blog.
I guess all I can do is upload the ones I want to google photos from my desktop files.

Donna,
I’ve had experience getting an error from Picasa uploads – then it just goes away and starts working again – some kind of glitch in your internet connection, or your account. Try logging out of your account in Picasa (upper right corner) then log back in.
If it is a real problem – you’re right, it’s not going to get fixed, and you’ll have to upload directly from your hard drive to Google Photos. Be sure you’ve saved all edits to disk before uploading. Did you watch Button Show episode 132: Google PHotos for Picasa Users? Specifically – I demonstrate the different ways of uploading from computer to GP at the 36 minute point.
Here are the videos to watch for that:

Thanks Chris for the info. I’m definately going to have to upgrade all my software along with Operating System, revamp my blog and find another way of creating everything in an easier fashion.
Updater did start working again but now any new folders I have in my picture files in my laptop will not display in Picasa, any deletes I do to the older pictures in my folders will not be removed from Picasa.
I really used Picassa alot and found it so easy to use now it is taking up so much of my time that when we get back home everything will get upgraded.
Thanks for your help. I will be watching the tutorials you identified along with the others so learn as much as I can before upgrading everything.
Donna
