When c cleaner was installed, it deleted the web sites in the address bar and some things on my home page. How can this be prevented?

Installing the program did not make changes to my browser. When you run the Cleaner, you get choices of what will get cleaned. I usually uncheck the cookies choice and leave everything else at defaults.
What is your home page set to? Normally a page does not allow changes.
