I recently acquired a MacBook Air and am trying to set it up with apps that I use frequently on my iPad and iphone.. How is the best and simplest way to use Google on this MacBook? When I go to the App Store, it doesn’t look like there is a dedicated Google app that I can just click onto. I use sheets, drive, docs, maps, gmail, calendar, etc. Hope you can help me? Thanks in advance!

On a computer, (Mac or PC) there are no Google ‘Apps’ to use, just the Chrome browser. Sign in with your Google account and you can go to gmail.com and see your emails, Drive.google.com and see all your Google Drive files, Photos.Google.com and see all your photos. Calendar.google.com and see your calendar entries etc.

Try it and let me know if that works for you.

I went to Google.com(this is on the MacBook) …had to sign in manually(LastPass was no help) then I could click on the area with all the little boxes next to my name to select what I wanted to view(photos, docs, spreadsheets, etc). I guess this is what I will have to do! I think I am finding out that LastPass is not compatible with Mac…is this true?

How can I save my passwords safely? When ask if I want to save password, is this safe to do? Thanks in advance for your help.

Just in case you missed these videos on LastPass:

Lastpass is definitely compatible with Mac. Are you sure your Google account username/password is set up in LastPass? And, if you’re using the Chrome browser, have you installed the Chrome extension? If you’re using the Safari browser, here are LastPass’ instructions for Safari. The extension needs to be installed and active in order for Lastpass to fill in passwords for you.

Okay…LP on Mac seems to be working now…not sure what I was doing wrong! I am using Safari browser and watched the videos. I have two Google accounts. It worked on one(photos, docs, spreadsheets, etc), but not on my gmail account…don’t know why!

On LP looks like I had to make a choice between computer and mobile. I went with computer, now my iPhone and iPad are not allowing LP to work. Is there a remedy for this? Can it be changed back to mobile? Now I don’t know what to do! Should  I stick with LP on my mobiles since I use them more and just have the Mac save my passwords? I feel like I’m in quicksand now and sinking fast!! Thanks in advance, again.

It sounds like you’re using the free version of LastPass which only allows one device type. To make it work on all devices, you need to pay 2.40/mo. Here’s the pricing page.

Thank you. In all my digging, I did find a workaround for LastPass on a second device. I might try this for a while before I have to pay!
